What haven't we done this month??

Monday (May 9) was probably the lowest point of the week....I had some kind of virus that woke me up at 2:30 in the morning.  I put in for a sub and texted my principal at 5:00 a.m.  Now you know I am really sick if I call in for myself.  The last time I kept pushing though with a stomach virus, I ended up with IV in my arm. (Sept 09).  I managed to keep to myself for long enough that neither the girls or Frank got it! Eureaka!!

Wednesday was a super, duper birthday for me!!  Mom and Dad came to visit.  We went to Miyako's for a birthday dinner.  After 2 days of just soup....it was especially good!  Katherine and Emily really like Miyako's because of all the cooking action going on.  It helps too that the food is fantastic!  I got new shoes, a new purse and some new clothes from my parents and Frank.   We are getting Bradford Pear Trees from Kathy soon.  The other 5th grade teachers brought chicken salad, fruit and cake.

Thursday was a whirlwind.  We drove right after school to Dallas.  Aunt Sue's school threw her a real nice soiree in honor of her retirement..... There were 3 other teachers too....  Katherine was very proud of her Ant Soup "graduating" from kindergarten....

The week after that was a whirlwind.  Emily spent the week with Mimi and Papa.  By Saturday, we were headed to Dallas for the Jimmy Buffet concert with Kathy and Raymond.  Mom and Dad brought Emily to Dallas and then took Katherine with them.  We picked the girls up in Hillsboro on Sunday.  The Buffet concert was awesome.  In addition to Jimmy's amazing music, we limo'd around and saw all kinds of crazy stuff.  This included a man passed out (we hope) in the road and handing out margaritas to complete strangers.

The week after that....well, it was the last week of school.  Were were very, very, very busy...pictures will help.  The exciting moment about the week was Katherine's Honors day.  She recieved Prefect Attendance for the Six Weeks and Green  (Excellent Behavior) every day for the 6 weeks.  The most impressive (and proud moment for me and Frank!) was that Katherine was one of two children in the class who recieved an award for staying on Green the ENTIRE YEAR!!!  There are 21 children in her classroom and her teacher is structured but loving....this was no easy task!  I was super proud.  Kathy was there to witness the event which made it very special for Katherine.

I can't believe my oldest is "graduated" from Kindergarten.  Everything was new and wonderful this year.  She had her first teacher, first holiday parties, first school best friend, first field day, first water day, first awards....none of it will be first ever again.....  I have never been very sentimental about my children growing up.  I have truly always been happy when I notice their growing up.  But this.....this was different....school will never be completely new to her again.

Emily...oh Emily.  This child who less than two can identify green and yellow and (with help) count to 5.  Oh my!  I have said many times, Emily could be right on target for her age, I wouldn't know.  Katherine had delays in her earing, therefore her comprehension at this age.  But Emily is stll a charming and super intelligiant child.  She can tell us if she is hungry, tired or needs a fresh diaper....impressive to me at least.

OK, enough bragging on my girls.

I'll post pictures soon. ;)
