Tuesday morning

Emily had a pretty good night. She only woke up when they did her vitals and suctioning so she was able to sleep for 3 hour stretches. (as did Mommy!) 2 doctors have come to see her this morning. They both feel as if she is doing much better. Her lungs have moved from "crackly" to "course". This is a good thing. Her Respitory Therapist said she could actually hear air moving throughout her lungs. They have also lowered her oxygen, something they will try to continue throughout the day.

The RT did another suctioning this morning. That is very hard on Emily because it is distressing to her although today wasn't has bad as previous times. She is so exhausted now so she taking a well deserved nap.

They have not done Team Rounds yet here so I do not know what the long term plan is although I feel we will be here tonight. She has to be off oxygen for 24 hours and have her saturation levels remain high without oxygen to be released.

Mom said that Katherine did well last night.  Katherine was kneeling for her prayers and prayed for Emily to get well and for God to help the doctors.  That just melted my heart....she has such a kind and caring heart.

Katherine was very excited to go to school this morning and see her friends.  I am so grateful for her to have this distraction.
