I went on my annual Girl's Trip this past weekend. We went to Beaumont Ranch this year. Attending were Sheryl, Deborah, Elisha and yours truly.
Friday evening, we started out with a fish fry/mexican buffett, cash bar and live entertainment. OK, so the fried catfish was so DANG GOOD! Just melted in your mouth. The bar made strong drinks. Nice. The "live" entertainment was a Karoke DJ that did a good job. Sheryl and I sang a song each. Some other lady sang a song too and the ranch workers were going on and on about how good she would be. Wow, was she bad. real bad. The true live entertainment was when Elisha and I both took turns riding the mechanical bull. It was a nice moment of lost pride for me.
The next day, after we roamed the ranch and ate 2 fantastic meals, we went to Roping lessons. These were pretty hilarious. We learned to roll our rope up and then to rope a very intimidating cow made of pipe metal. I could rope but I was bad at rolling the rope back up. Luckily, Deborah was good at both.
After we mastered roping, we went on our cattle drive. That's right folks, we hearded cattle. It was a long and hard 45 minutes to get those cows around to move around that pond. Let me tell you, we are pros at this now. After we hearded the cows, we went on a trail ride. Our horses were so excited to get home, they trotted back to the bar. That was not a fun portion of the ride for me.
Then we went to our Chuck Wagon dinner (cooked by Chuck). He served salad, rolls, steak, beans and corn. It was all sooooo good. He cooked the corn in butter, cream and sugar after he had rubbed it with BBQ seasoning. Now that is a piece of heaven my friends.
The next day, we had breakfast and came home.
If you think I probably left out details, you're right. I'm protecting the innocent.
