We took Katherine to the Zoo on Tuesday. (thanks Aunt Sue and Uncle Mike!) She really loved it. It was a gorgeous day too...so that helped.
We started out at the primates. We saw a huge silverback gorilla up close! Katherine's favorite were the mandrils. She thought it was really funny to see them walking around.
At that point, we stopped at the "food court" for lunch. There food court is more of a few choices of meals with a large picnic area. I've sat there before and enjoyed the heck out it! But for some reason, this time, a lot bees were around. A whole lot. Frank and I looked like manical crazy people swatting at these things. One actually did kind of a kamakaze dive at Frank. I just kept saying, "bees!, bees!, bees!" and swatting in the air. I really wish a camera had been on us. We finally just loaded up and got away.
OK, back on task. The bee attack ended so...

Next, the elephants. We got to see an elephant play around in the water. Katherine liked that too. After that, we went to see the Great Barrier Reef exhibit where we saw some sharks and then the kangaroos. It was okay...
We finished up by looking at the tigers again. As we were leaving, I looked down at Katherine and she had fallen asleep on the way to car. She was completely wiped out.
It was a great day! Thanks again!
