Yesterday, I posted for Tuesday but it was actually Monday that we went to Downtown Gustave and LeSelect.

Tuesday, we all lounged around and I had breakfast in bed.  Then Kathy, Frank and I jumped in the jeep for a tour of the Island.  Best we can tell, we covered about a 1/3 of the Island....maybe less.  We started on the road next to the airport and just kept driving.  It is hard without pictures but to say it was beautiful is almost insulting because words cannot describe the beauty of St. Bart's.  One of the things we found interesting is that most of the roads are lined in 3 foot tall rock fences.  When the Island was first discovered, settlers divided their land with these rock fences.  At one point, we looked up on a hill and could see where the rock fences were still in place marking land....from 1492.  1492! That is some major craftmenship!  We probably drove for 2 hours just looking and exploring.  Our trip was ended when we found a rock that was above the sea so much that even Kathy was a bit nervous.  The wind was blowing so hard that we had to really make sure we balanced.  We did manage to avoid the now newly names "Kill me now" road.  The road was directly next to a cliff and it had no grass next to it.  It had absolutely nothing between the road and what I famously named a "fiery death of falling that is assured to be painful....and slow"

I have to admit that I am 100% terrified of heights.  It takes many a deep breath just to get on a step ladder for me.  So imagine the roads here are basically either up the Island or down the Island.  It is the craziest thing I've seen on roads.  People on Scooters and 4 wheelers just pass you whether it is safe or not.  There is no middle line and certainly not one that is solid or hashed mark lines to safe, "hey! it's safe to pass!"  Nope....it is just go, go, go.... I have begun to adjust where I am not terrified to the point of passing out while on the road.

I attached a picture of us at the gigantic rock that was near the "kill me now" road.  We were really working on trying to find David Letterman's house but turned around at this point.

Last night, we had a taxi pick us up to go to dinner.  We went to a place called "The Wall" named probably because it is directly next to the harbor wall.  I will write more about it later.  For now, I believe I have saturated your imagination with my thoughts and ramblings.
