Hello from St. Barts

Hi there!

We are having an amazing time here!  Yesterday was an interesting experience.  We got on the hotel shuttle at 5:30 a.m.  About 5 minutes into the trip, the driver turned around to go back to the airport.  He didn't tell us why so we were in a bit of confusion.  Apparently, he had to go back to pick a family of 6 that was late.  It was a bit irritating but we managed to laugh about it.  Once at the airport, we had to wait for the airport service lady to confirm that our flights were okay.  She kept saying that we an "illegal layover".  That sounds a lot worse than it was because it just meant we only had 30 minutes to get to our St. Bart's flight in the St. Marteen airport.  Finally, we get on the plane and take our ride to Charlotte.  That was uneventful.  We got to our flight in Charlotte but it was an hour late taking off.  Soooo.....we missed our flight to St. Bart's.  This meant we had to take taxi to the ferry.  Luckily, the St. Marteen's airport employees were extremely helpful and got us their for the 6:45 pm launch.  They have a bar everywhere you go.  So we had a drink while waiting for the ferry....took a bit of the edge off! The ferry was an hour long but we were just thrilled to get to the Villa.

Our Villa Hosts met us at the harbor where the ferry docked.  We followed them to the villa in our rented jeep.  Yea...let me just explain to you about this little portion of the trip.  There are NO LIGHTS on the EXTREMELY narrow roads! Frank drove with Raymond sitting in front and Kathy and I in back.  I thought I would die in a fiery death while hurling down the side of the island.  But, of course, my worries were ridiculous and we arrived safely and in one piece.  Our Villa Hosts had left us with roast chicken, tomatoes with mozzarella, lentils (which was our dinner) as well as cold pasta salad, MahiMahi, cheeses and most importantly, WINE!

The Villa is amazing.  The pictures are true to the exact Villa.  Our rooms both have ocean views and the open air living room is amazing.  This morning, Frank and I went for a walk, went to the grocery store (where everything was in French) and now we are hanging out on the pool!

Needless to say, we have are having the most fantastic, super, wonderful, unbelievable....did I say fantastic? time!

Love to all!
