Pre Merry Christmas 2011

Here is our pre holiday saga....
It started with the girls and I headed to Dallas for our annual visit to Kathy's office.  First things first, I went to the wrong office.  I had forgotten that Kathy moved to a new office literally a city block away.  It wouldn't have been embarrassing except that I marched into Kathy's old office and announced to the secretary, "We're Kathy's daughter-in-law and granddaughters."  Katherine and Emily are yelling, "GaGa! GaGa! Where are you???".  The secretary (who looked about 18) looked at me with pity and said, "Oh I'm sorry, Ms. Kinser isn't in this office anymore."  I flushed a nice, deep red, hustled the girls out and kept telling Katherine to shush....

At any rate, we arrived at the correct office and a nice visit.  Oh, but not before I couldn't figure out how to get into the office because the door needed a pull....not push.  Reminded me of the Far Side Cartoon.  But add 2 small children again, calling, "GaGa! GaGa! Where are you???".

Anyway.....

We went to lunch at Fajita Pete's.  It was soooooo yummy!

The next day, Kathy, Raymond, the girls and I headed for the annual Fort Worth Tuba Christmas Concert.  We got their early and got a really good parking spot.  This was perfect because Dad had a special gift for Kathy.  He made a beautiful (and professional looking, I might add) case to hold and display Kathy's father's alto saxophone.

Kathy was overwhelmed....absolutely stunned.  It was a pretty cool moment!

The concert was, as always, lovely.

We had a such a wonderful time.  Raymond spent probably more time playing green light, red light with the girls than listening to the concert.  I was so grateful for his patience with them.  It paid off too, because Emily fell asleep on the way home.  Katherine did too but she was with Mom and Dad.  She got to go home with Mimi and Papa for a little one on one time Christmas.

Saturday morning, we headed for Mexia to begin the Christmas festivities.  I'll add more later.  I am sure this blog has been quite a bit!

:)
