We went to Christmas Eve service. Our family was asked to light the candles and reading the litany for church. The girls were very well behaved during church. Mom (and then Frank) spent some time in the foyer with Emily because she kept saying, "I like that song!" or "Look at the lights!". It really wasn't a disturbance but we wanted for everyone to enjoy the service. We were also blessed that evening with my dad's duet of "Oh Holy Night". It was so moving!
We came home and devoured our traditional tamales. We probably would have been able to eat my dad's pico de gallo and my mom's guacamole but Frank, Daddy, the girls and I ate all of before we left for church. oops. Luckily Mom had 7 layer dip and other goodies to add to the tamales.
Christmas morning was awesome. Emily and Katherine recieved everything they had asked for from Santa. The pictures really tell it. We did Santa and let the girls open 4 gifts (number picked by Katherine) before leaving for church.
Church was an uplifting service. Mom and I sang a duet "Twas the Birthday of the King!". Mom sang like an angel. I just love her voice. It is so rich.
That afternoon, we snacked and opened the rest of our presents. Fun fun!! We all got lots of wonderful things. Mom and Dad cooked roast, green beans, mashed potoatoes and dessert for Christmas dinner. It was super, super yummy!
With our Explorer packed to the tip top, we headed out on Monday morning. We couldn't fit the puppet theatre that Mom and Dad made for the girls. (yes, I said puppet theatre) but we got everything else. On Monday, we put Katherine's new bed together...it is soooo cool!
Here are some photos of Christmas, I will blog the rest later!
Merry Christmas, Y'all!
