Alright, alright, alright!
We've had a busy week. I feel as if I write that more often than I would like but it is oh so true. Katherine is now completely healed of her ear infection and chest congestion. This came at a good time as she had speech class coming up.
Katherine is now enrolled in a new program for speech. She goes to class 2 times a week for 1 1/2 hours at a time. This is fantastic for her! It took some finessing on my part though to get her there. The class is 1 - 2:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays which is right in middle of my teaching day. So we arranged for a friend of ours to pick Katherine up from preschool and drive her 1 block to Emma Roberson Elementary. When the class is over, Katherine rides the school bus for 1 block to my school. It all seems so simple. But I was the psycho mom standing 2 steps away from her bus on her first day.
Now I don't know too much from Katherine on how speech class went because when I asked, she told me "Let's talk tomorrow.". Then she fell asleep. OK, then.
I finally was able to get her to tell me some of what went on in class. She told me that she didn't sing the songs because she was shy and "didn't know any of the persons". Then she said that next time she would do everything.
"I was just being shy Momma. I just do one shy and then I fine. Now I know all the persons."
OK, then.
She also proclaimed that all school buses should be pink and not the standard yellow.
Emily has progressed this week too! She now blows raspberries with her tongue. She also can roll over and prop her self up on her elbows. It is funny to watch her because if you don't she will do full 360 rolling rotations that put her on the opposite side of the room from which she began. Thank goodness for Exosaucers! They keep her in one place.
Our weekend has been nice so far too.
Friday night was pretty sad because I was asleep before 9:00 p.m. Apparently, though, Gina and Jeff came by to hang with Frank some time later on Friday evening. When I woke up to check on Emily at 2:00 a.m., I was completely startled to hear snoring from our guest bedroom. Frank was too deep into sleep to explain who was in the bedroom. In fact, when I woke him and asked....he rolled over, sat up and said, "My name is Frank W. Sullivan! *snore, snore*". NO KIDDING! So, I very cautiously and quietly opened the door and saw Gina and Jeff asleep.
Saturday morning, once everyone was up and moving, we all went to Grump's Hamburgers for lunch. It was, of course, fantastic.
Then tonight we were privileged to attend MacKenzie's birthday party. Megan served nachos (yum!) and we watched Mac open her gifts. It was really nice to visit with everyone. Katherine had a wonderful time playing with her cousins and friends. We were home before 9.
On a completely different side note, I am addicted to facebook and the stupid games of Sorority Life, Farmville and Cafe World. I rock at Sorority Life but I keep killing my plants on my farm and ruining all of the dishes in mycafe. Oh well....such is life in big city!
Ok, I think that sums up our week. I'll try to be better about blogging more often.
