Ok, Ok, Ok! This is going to be a long one....I've delayed in writing lately. I don't really have any good reason either. sigh.
Thanksgiving week....or driving/family palooza......was wonderful!
On Sunday, before Thanksgiving, Frank drove me and the girls to Mexia. We stayed there until Tuesday. Then, Mom and Dad, the girls and I headed to Kerrville. By the time we arrived on Tuesday, it was evident that Emily was not feeling well. I think she had a little bug and was teething. Fun stuff. It took about 5 adults to maintain sanity during the screaming portions of the evening. Wednesday was filled with shopping....yes shopping! Mom and Dad kept Katherine and Emily while I went to San Antonio with Aunt Sue and Grandmother. (we did bring back a surprise for Mom as a thank you). Our exciting buy was a pair of boots for all 3 of us. I don't usually spend money on myself so it was a rare treat.
Thursday, I woke up early and got breakfast going for Grandmother and myself. Mom and Dad were camping in their pop up trailer with Katherine. Katherine thought this was the greatest thing EVER! I also made Grandmother stay seated while she told me how to make her famous cornbread dressing. We also got the sweet potatoes and cranberry salad going. By 3:30, all of us were headed to Aunt Carol and Uncle Marty's house in Boerne. A good time of feasting was had by all. We watched the Cowboy game which was fun. Where was Frank, you ask? Well, he has to work on the week of Thanksgiving (with exception of that Thursday). So he and Kathy went to the Cowboy game with some friends. Frank said it was just awesome!
Friday was a day of relaxing and shopping and preparation. We were preparing for the MAIN EVENT! My mom and her 2 sisters hosted a birthday party on Saturday at the YO Ranch Hotel for my grandmother. We celebrated, along with 80 of her closest friends, my Grandmother's 85th birthday. Frank arrived on Saturday in time to celebrate with us. Then on Sunday, after church and a hearty German lunch in Fredricksburg, we drove home.
Whew....I'm exhausted just typing it again!
I'll update about this past weekend in a different post....I don't want to overwhelm anyone. :)
