Shoe shopping fun!

We woke up at 7:00 this morning. (ok, so we didn't rise until 7:30). We finished laundry and were out the door at 9:30. Katherine and Emily even got baths!

By 11:00, after 1 donut stop and 1 potty stop, we were in Dallas in GaGa's house!

Then, the adventure begin....at Stride Rite shoe store. The goal was to get Katherine some new shoes. The soles on her tennis shoes were completely worn out and she had no black Mary Jane church shoes. She also needed to get her hair cut. (The Stride Rite store also has children's hair salon)

Katherine is quite particular about her shoes.

I presented 3 shoes.

Katherine: "No"

Katherine: "No"

Shoe 3
Katherine: "Cool."

OK, then.

I picked out the black Mary Jane's. Those don't go to the audience for a vote.

After she got her shoes, Katherine got her hair trimmed. She was well-behaved and was given a pink lollipop as a reward.

Grandma Kathy also got her some TCU purple Crocs. These replaced the orange Jac-o-lantern Walmart crocs that we've been wearing for 2 years. I told the saleslady to throw them away. Kathy actually had to reassure her that I was serious.

The purple shoes were saved until we got home as a surprise. Katherine was way excited about them. She wanted to wear them immediately.
