Well, Happy Holidays to all!
We've had a wonderful holiday so far. On the 23d, Mom, Dad, the girls and I headed to downtown Ft. Worth for Tuba Christmas. You must watch the whole video....the music is beautiful and at the end are some precious photos! To Mexia we went after a lunch at our traditional Tuba Christmas place, Los Vaqueros.
Christmas Eve brought relaxation and a trip to WalMart. I had to get a 3 Muskateer Barbie from Santa because he had not finished Swan Lake Barbie's dress. ;) From there, we hung out at the house and watched the weather. It was snowing everywhere in the DFW metroplex and even in Mexia. It was not snowing at Mom and Dad's house because they live too far from Mexia.....a whole 7 miles. Anyway, mainly I was worried about Frank. He was supposed to work til 4:30 and then drive from North Fort Worth to Mexia. Luckily, he got off at 1:15. He arrived in Mexia about 4:00 with snow/ice...or snice on the front of the car. Yikes! We were all able to attend the Christmas Eve service. It was beautiful.
Christmas morning brought us great joy and happiness! Santa had arrived leaving crumbs on his cookie plate and a Sleeping Beauty Talking Makeup Vanity for Katherine and toys for Emily. Katherine spent the morning playing with her vanity and Emily spent her morning having a bottle and taking a nap. Once the Santa extravaganza was finished and the girl's opened their presents we adults opened our presents. Lots of wonderful things! Among the more highlighted things were a digital picture frame for Mom, a table saw for Frank, a beginners sewing kit for me and Tran Siberian Orchestra tickets for Dad and Mom. It was an extremely wonderful morning. We spent the afternoon gorging on Mom's Christmas dinner. Ham...greenbeans....mashed potatoes....rolls.....yum.
Frank and I took advantage that evening of our complimentary babysitters. We went to Waco and saw the movie, "It's Complicated" . It was absolutely hysterical! In fact, we may need to see it again to catch the lines we missed because of our laughter.
The next day, Frank and I headed out with the girls, Cowboy and a completely stuffed to the brim Ford Explorer. We've spent the last day and a half trying to relax and enjoy each other's company.
Christmas was wonderful and I am looking forward to next week!
