Day 4

Thursday was an excellent day. Mom, Dad, the girls and I had lunch at Shrimp n Stuff again. This time, I had shrimp salad. It's like chicken or tuna salad but with shrimp and crab. It is just divine. Unfortunately, I learned that Emily did not like it so much. I'm not sure what didn't agree with her but an hour and half of crying from the gas bubbles in her tummy made me not care. I just won't have it anymore.

Afterwards, much to Daddy's delight, we went to Palais Royal. It's Galveston's version of a Bealls department store. I needed a few pair of pants to get me through my post pregancy weight. Before we left for vacation, I was 2 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I don't know so much now...anyway, I found some good deals.
We also went to Wal Mart and got Katherine a new lunch box for the new school year. I know you are surprised that it has the Disney Princess trio on it. We also failed to find red shoes for Katherine. Her first day of school dress (made by Mimi) has red in it. Katherine decided that red shoes were needed. The red shoes were, however, successfully purchased at Target. They are red and glittery. If she clicked them twice, I'm sure Katherine would be home...as she they are oddly similiar to the Wizard of Oz set. Somehow, she also talked Mimi into buying her pink Hello Kitty rain boots.
Once we were home, Mom, Dad and Katherine took a nap. I listened to Emily cry for a long time. Thank goodness Mom was able to give me a break after a while.
By 6:00, Frank had arrived. He left at 12:30 so he made good time. After, DADDY'S HERE! hugs, Frank and I left. Well, not forever. Mimi and Papa kept the girls while we went out.

First, we dined at Landy's Seafood. I had lobster bisque, salad and Fresh Catch Ponchatrain. (cheese wine sauce with mushrooms). Oh my....heaven. Frank had seafood gumbo, salad and the stuffed flounder. Oh my......heaven again. We were miserable afterwards because we were so full. We decided a nice friendly game of Putt Putt was in order. We used to putt putt all the time when we were dating.

So out we headed to the local Putt Putt course. It was really fun! Frank won by six strokes....or whatever it is you say. Even though I had fun, I was kind of a train wreck. I had to trade my putter once, lost my purple golf ball, and at one point got so excited about the possiblity of a hole in one that I tripped and fell. I have a nice skinned knee to show for it...like a ten year old. The creme de la crem of my "show" was stepping onto the "green" of Hole 17. My right foot rolled over and I just crumbled. Talk about humiliating. I had wine at dinner but it is not like I had a lamp shade on my head! It didn't really hurt anything but my pride at the time. This morning, though, my ankle was bruised and swollen.

Now that is embarrassing....the only sports injury ever in my life was at Putt Putt.

More about today, tomorrow.... :)
