I have been pretty neglectful of the blog. So sorry. I don't any good excuses....
We have been overtaken by the World Series (even though the Ranger's broke our hearts).
Last Thursday, Mimi came up to chaperone Katherine's field trip. Friday was a full day on the Granbury Downtown Square! They went to the old jail, the police station, the fire station, the library, Senor Ayala's Restaurant, visited the mayor and had lunch in the park. Can you say exhausted 6 year olds??????
Friday night, we were very, very lucky that Mom would babysit so that Frank and I could have a date. We had P.F. Changs....yu-uu-um...
Saturday morning, Mom and I walked Katherine and Emily around the Square before meeting Frank at Mi Familia's for a fun family lunch. Then we all took the girls to Katherine's school carnival. Both Katherine and Emily were facepainted and "tattooed". They also got free books in the book walk. Mimi, of course, let them pick books at the book fair. Good times!
After a quick nap, Mom headed home. Thanks Mimi for celebrating the beginning of Halloween with us!
That evening, Michelle Frye came over to help out with trick or treat. It is a 3 year running tradition that we have. Michelle and I take both girls around to trick or treat. Then after about 6 houses, I bring Emily home. Frank stays home to give out candy. Michelle then schleps around with Katherine for another hour or so for more candy. (As predicted, Katherine lasted about 2 houses in her Belle high heels, then changed into her pretty flats...one can never be too prepared). Michelle and Katherine had a wonderful time as Katherine was armed with her pink flashligh (courtesy Mimi and Papa) and her Spooky Buddies candy bag (courtesy GaGa).
Not to out done by Saturday, Frank and I loaded the girls into the Explorer on Sunday for a "Family Fun Day." This meant we went into Ft. Worth to eat at Olive Garden on a gift card. Then we found a backpack for one of my students....
We had a busy week!
