Ahh..the first week

So far so good.

Our first week of school has gone well. Katherine loves, loves, loves first grade....more specifically, she loves her teacher, Ms. Green.  I actually taught Ms. Green's daughter a couple of years ago in my 5th grade Reading class.  They are a wonderful family!  Ms. Green and Katherine have really made a connection and you can see it in Katherine's enthusiasm for going to school!  I get emails and text messages about Katherine's super progress and the fun things she is learning!

Speaking of enthusiasm, Emily is super excited every day about preschool.  She loves her morning teacher, Ms. Angela and her afternoon teacher, Ms. Brenda.  Everyday when I pick up Emily, Ms. Brenda has done Emily's hair, has her diaper freshly changed and tells me how Emily is wonderful and sweet!

Could I be more lucky????????

Oh, my classes are awesome.  I am successfully teaching math....I think.  I am good with teaching Reading but Math, yeah....I wasn't the best math student.  (witnesses: my 4th - senior year math teachers).  I always tried hard but it didn't always click.  They say that the worst math students make the best math teachers.   Well....I must be absolutely phenomenal because I was a completely horrible math student.  It just didn't make sense to me .....but at least I can work it out according to my own logic with my students.

The reading is going fine.  I love to read and I love to teach students about reading.....so at least that part is easy.
