Man, we've been busy since last week!
So let's start with Friday.
Friday, immediately after school, Katherine, Emily and I headed for Mexia. Katherine was given 2 Fiber One chocolate laced bars from my good friends at school for a snack. We have a bunch left over because, apparently, they make you SUPER sleepy. Well, it worked. Katherine was asleep by Glen Rose. ( around 10 minutes out)
Emily was SCREAMING when we hit Covington. Katherine woke up because I got pulled over by Covington's finest. Luckily, the nice policewoman has small children and felt compassionate towards my situation. I got a warning. WooHoo!
We headed to Mexia with no problem where we met Mom and Dad at the Taqueria for dinner. I immediately ordered a glass of wine.....along with dinner, then I had a second glass. Once dinner was paid for (Thanks Daddy!) Dad and I headed to the football game of Mexia vs. Groesbeck. Our main goal was to see the band as opposed to the football team. The football team was awesome, they ended winning! The band was dismal which breaks my heart. On 3 different occasions (and we left before the 3rd quarter started), the band director had our band playing while our team had the ball...HELLO?????? I was losing my mind!
Anyway....
On Saturday, Mom and I called so that we could get the girls in for some Christmas pictures with our local Mexia photographer. Luck was on our side as she had a 1:30 slot! The pictures turned out very cute and I was very grateful for our photographer was able to get us in! The photos are super cute.

On Sunday, after church, the girls and I headed home. It is notable to note that Katherine was able to speak to Santa Claus. He happen to be eating at the Farm House where we were eating. Katherine told him (with Mimi's help) that she and Emily had been VERY good and that she had made the 100 club.* The 100 club is where a student can count to 100 for the teacher.
I went to Katherine's speech meeting on Monday. The speech teacher, Katherine's teacher and the vice-principal and I decided that Katherine does NOT need to be in speech anymore! This is a good thing because it means that Katherine has reached all of her speech goals.
*I found out that Katherine was, in fact, not in the 100 club. When questioned, she knew this but only said it because she "wanted to be in the 100 club." Well, after a making a phone call to tell the truth to Mimi, Daddy AND Santa, we understood that telling a lie was not a good choice.
*sigh*
All in all...........AWESOME time in Mexia!
