Bottle vs. the sippy cup - Day 1

We've been waging a war in our household.  Emily is 16 1/2 months old and she still takes a bottle.  Now it important to be truthful.  The truth is....Charlotte who keeps Emily hasn't given Emily a bottle for months.  The truth is that while we were on our anniversary vacation, Betty and Kathy didn't give Emily a bottle at all.  It is, apparently, just me and Frank that have indulged her want for the bottle.

We've also never been very good at letting her "cry it out".

When we got home from Galveston, Emily wanted no part of her sippy cup.....she only wanted Mommy and a bottle.  So Tuesday night, we managed to get her down with her sippy cup.

Wednesday, Frank and Kathy went to work, and my parents arrived around 2:30ish.  So it was just me and the girls.  I tried with all of my might to get Emily to take a nap.  She never did and she cried almost all day.  By the time, my parents arrived, Mom had decided to take Katherine to see "Tangled" the movie.  Dad took Emily with him to the fishing store for a couple of hours.   This gave my ears a break and allowed Kathy and I to tackle all of casseroles that would be served the next day.

By 9:30 on Wednesday night, Frank and I gave in....Emily got her bottle because nothing else would do.

Thursday night, Mom rocked her until Emily fell asleep and there was no issue.

So now....we've given Emily a sippy cup.

She is screaming her head off.....as my good friend, Jen Satterwhite, would say the baby is clean, dry and fed so let her cry a little.

Awesome.
