We had a great weekend!
It did start out pretty rough, for me at least. The virus that Emily had 10 days ago, Katherine 7 and Frank 5 (luckily all on the weekends for them) ....hit me on Thursday night. I, as any responsible teacher would do, went to school. I was sporting a pretty good fever by the time I ended my school day and picked up the children. Nice.
We picked up the dog and headed to Dallas. The girls I had a plan to stay in Dallas while Frank attended the UT vs. OU game with his friend, Brian. I was fading fast and pretty puny by the time we arrived in Dallas. Kathy loaded me up with LOTS of medicine and I began feeling better soon.
On Saturday, Kathy, the girls and I headed to StrideRite for some shoes for Emily. She has one pair of Sketchers. They are great but don't exactly go with Sunday clothes. Kathy and I chose a pair of adorable black Mary Jane's and one very cute pair of bright green Crocs. (I must interject that when we were asked the color, Kathy, a Univ of Arkansas alumni, made sure all of StrideRite heard her say, "ANYTHING BUT ORANGE!". I laughed so hard, I almost....well, let's just say I managed to maintain some self control.....thank goodness).
We made our obligatory trip to Target afterwards. I love and miss Target which is an inconvenient 30 minute drive from our house. Kathy loves and misses WalMart, which is the same inconvenient drive in Dallas.
Around 3 that afternoon, Kathy's good friend, Nancy, brought her 6 year old granddaughter, Mary Grace. Katherine and MaryGrace swam for almost 2 hours! They got along swimmingly (pun intended). They also had a tea party, served by Nancy, of sodas, chocolate and ice cream bars. Not that I am serving Katherine organic veggies and humus at dinner but talk about an unhealthy sugar rush! Katherine was asleep by 7....woo hoo!
Sunday morning found us at The Original Pancake House (not to be confused with the International House of Pancakes). Oh boy was the food YUM! I had an omelet, Katherine had pancakes, Kathy had Southern Eggs Benedict and Emily had toast and ham.
Frank arrived at the house by around 11:30 or so. He was morally wounded by the astounding and (predictable) loss of the Longhorns. The good news was that he had a great time!
I suppose you are wondering about the Aggie Whoop part of the title. Michael's former Aggie buddies are flying and/or driving in for the Aggie game (or as Kathy says, the Arkansas game where A&M plans to show up). I have been invited to go and I am SUPER, SUPER excited! I haven't actually been to an Aggie game in 12 years. I guess I should say Whoop Hoo instead of Woo Hoo! (ba dump ching).
