Difficulties

Conversation from this morning.....

Me: Who are you going to play with at recess today?
Katherine: I'm just going to play by myself.
Me: Why?
Katherine: I don't know....I'm feeling....difficult.
Me: Difficult?
Katherine: Yes. Difficult means that someone wants to play with you but you don't want to.
Me: OK. Well. Maybe you'll feel different at recess
Katherine: No...I think I will still feel difficult

fast foward to the end of the day............

Me: So how was your day:
Katherine: Good.
Me: Did you play with
anyone at recess?
Katherine: Well....I played with Regan for a little while.
But then I played by myself.
Me: You didn't play with anyone else?
Katherine: No...I was still feeling difficult.

Ok then.
