Cheers to Papa! He drove a whole lot of miles to attend Grandparent's Day at Katherine's school. (Note: we only found about the special lunch on Wednesday night which is why more grandparents were unable to attend.)
Dad said he was very impressed with Katherine's behavior and the over all school atmosphere during the lunch. Coming from "Mr. Discipline in School", that is a BIG compliment!
After the lunch, Dad came to our house and hung out til I came home with Emily and Katherine. We celebrated Frank's birthday (which is today!) with Grump's hamburgers.
This morning was the truly funny story. Dad graciously got up with both girls about 7:30 so that Frank and I could sleep in a little. At around 8:15, I was awake. I walked into the living room to see both girls happy and playing. I even commented that Emily had on a fresh diaper and clothes!
According to Dad, he held off as long as he could til he had to change Emily's diaper. She had apparently had a nuclear waste diaper that defied (sp?) gravity. It was all over her diaper and pajamas! Dad told the story quite well. He got the diaper and wipes in place....as if preparing for war. He got 1 wipe out and cleaned Emily. Then when he reached for another, the wipe box was not cooperating! He knocked the wipe box on the floor and held it with is foot and secured more wipes...all while holding Emily's legs up in the air....SUPER PAPA!
I was asleep and unfortunately missed this amazing and awesome event!
Also, according to Dad, I woke up and came into the living room approximately 2 minutes and 13 seconds after all this occurred.
Good timing on my part! (hehe)
It's a whole new era for Papa....
