40 years!

First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mom! She and Daddy are in Colorado celebrating her birthday and their 40th wedding anniversary. 40 years! Cool, right?? Frank and I are going on 8 1/2 years....I'm looking forward to the next 31 1/2 plus years!

My parents have a wonderful and strong marriage. They have certainly had their trials and tribulations. I'm not just talking about Michael, either. These are 2 people who have worked hard their entire lives.

This is what I've learned from my parents.

1. Family is everything.

2. No matter what you do on Saturday night, be at church on Sunday.

3. When in doubt, do the right thing.

4. Communicate (with your spouse and your children)

5. God will get you through anything.

6. Tell your children you love them.

7. Tell your children you are proud of them....and often.

8. Nothing can take away from a good education.

9. Sometimes, saying nothing is the best comeback.

10. Do the bills together (that one is from Mom)

11. Put 100% in EVERYTHING you do! (that one is from Dad)

12. Sometimes...life hands you a tough set of cards but do not step away from God.

13. Keep a clean home.

14. Support each others passions....you might find that you have the same passion

15. And finally, love each other.....and tell your spouse that you love them....often.
