I'm so glad blogger works again. Now I can update!
The girls and I have been in Mexia since Tuesday. Tuesday morning was interesting just trying to get there. I tossed and turned the night before so luckily, with cartoons and a stratically given bottle, I was able to sleep til 8:45 a.m. That helped. But then I had to get us all packed and loaded. In the meantime, our satellite recievers for the living room and bedroom wouldn't work. Oh the tragedy!!! I am proud to announce that I was able to remedy the situation but pressing the reset buttons. And now I know how to fix that problem!
Once we got to Mexia, we were able to relax and chill.
On Wednesday, our first priority was to, of course, craft! We decided to decorate flip flops. I know that sounds odd, but I'll put picture up so you can see it as soon as blogger fixes that problem. Between my excellent ribbon wrapping and glueing skills and Mom's embroidrey machine, they turned out very cute! We also had lunch at Coffee Cabaret, home of the greatest chicken salad ever.
I was very lucky in that on Wednesday night, I was able to go out with my best friend from high school, Justin. We didn't head out until late because Mom and Dad had church choir practice. Since Dad is the interim director they couldn't exactly skip. It poured rain the entire day so by the time I got the girls loaded and met Mom and Dad at the church, it seemed almost ridiculous. It was MONSOON raining and I was dragging the children into town all in the name of having some me time. It all worked out though. Justin and I had a wonderful time just catching up and laughing....a lot!
Thursday, was more crafting. We made our obligatory trip to WalMart which was topped off by Charlie's Burgers. You know I have to get my fix when I am in Mexia of all of my favorite places to eat. We spent quite a bit of time on Thursday in the sewing room. Katherine learned to work in Papa's shop this week. By Thursday, she was a whiz at drilling holes into wood and hammering nails. We also practiced fishing in the yard.
We got ourselves packed up and headed home for Granbury by around 1:00 on Friday. A wonderful time was had by all but I we were glad to be home. I know Frank was happy to have us home too!
