Quiet weekend so far

Last night was a fun filled night of doing nothing!

Today, Katherine woke us hope at 7:30 a.m. as usual. She and I convinced Frank to take us to Niester's for a good German breakfast. It wasn't hard.... After a yummy breakfast, Katherine was given a free chocolate chip cookie. She was really excited. We headed over to C&J Butcher shop. Katherine thought that was pretty cool.

Once home, Katherine played for a while and I tackled the rest of laundry. Frank tackled our yard. We are getting our fence on Thursday (yea!!!). Right now, it is raining and Frank is still mowing. The back part of backyard is dirt and weeds. So that was an interesting display to watch.

At any rate, that is probably the most boring paragraph written on this blog in a long time. The fence is exciting for a couple of reasons. First, it will be nice to have some privacy in our yard not to mention more room. The main advantage is that Cowboy keeps escaping out of our temporary fence. It is a chicken fence. This has never been a problem before because Cowboy is afraid of his own shadow. Literally....the TV remote sends him jumping 6 feet in the air. I guess his fear subsided enough for to start roaming the neighborhood.

After Katherine's nap, Pam came by to pick her up. Katherine gets to have a "slumber" party at Pam's house. Pam has chickens, goats and donkey. And...a new dog. I am thinking we are over the seperation anxiety because Katherine was excited enough to show Pam her princess teapot, Dora toothbrush and hop squares. Once we got Katherine out the door, she ran to Pam's jeep and was ready to go. A quick goodbye and we are sans kid for the night!

This has given Frank the opportunity to watch the golf tournanament. I have been going through all of Katherine's clothes I set aside as she grew out of it. All the little newborn things are so tiny and so cute. I found a pair of monkey socks that brought me into a high pitched, sniveling mommy. So far, I figured out that I saved very little practical clothes but lots of cute stuff.

I told you our weekend was quiet so far. :)
