Mother's Day

Friday, was Field Day at my school. I was so exhausted when we got home. I had enough energy to drive home, take a shower and sit down. This certainly gave me some time to comteplate the news that Katherine had strep throat.

Mom and DAd are in town for Mother's Day weekend and my birthday. So, to start their weekend off, I had them take Katherine to the doctor. I wanted her ears to be clear before we did a hearing test on her. The story of how we got here is long and boring so I won't go into it.

Talk about a rough way to start Mother's day weekend. Katherine has been completely grumpy all week....melt downs, fits, the whole 9 yards...... I didn't know she was sick because once the meltdowns are over, she is happy, go lucky. I felt so guilty for not only being unaware of her strep throat but also getting on to her so much for the meltdowns. Such is life, I guess...

At any rate, she is feeling much, much better. Antibiotic is a wonderful thing.

So yesterday, Mom and I worked hard on the nursery for the baby. It is really cute. I'll post pictures soon. In the mean time, Frank worked on the yard, Dad worked on several wood projects in the garage. Last night, everyone was rewarded with a super yummy steak dinner at Tumbleweeds Steak house. When we came home, I got to open presents! Woo Hoo. I was blessed with a Spa treatment, a photo for the house and a gorgeous Texas Flag wall hanging from Mom.

This morning, we exchanged Mother's Day gifts before we headed to church. Mom got a James Avery charm and a neat book. I got another photo for the house and a Glider Rocking Chair and Ottoman for the nursery. It is SOOOO comfortable!!!

Then, it was ready to go to church. Katherine graced us by singing "Jesus Loves Me" with the other choirs during the worship service. She actually spent most of the time looking around and playing with her necklace. It was adorable. She did, though, sing the last 3 lines of the song. I was proud of her and beamed the whole time.

This afternoon, Frank served grilled porkchops, baked potatoes and veggies. It was awesome. A 3 hour nap followed for me. Yea Mother's Day!!

Tomorrow is my actual birthday so it should be a very nice day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the great moms in our lives! :)
