Just another day in Granbury....

Yesterday was a Bad Weather Day. Granbury ISD went from "Late Start" to "No school" quickly after the sleet started. So, Katherine and I stayed home all day. Frank didn't leave until 10:30 a.m. because our driveway was a sheet of ice. Plus, watching the news was a variable who's who in automobile carnage. Anyway, we just hung out all day. It was awesome.

Then around 6:00, Katherine started throwing up. That was not awesome. Finally, by 1:00 this morning, she quit. We decided to keep her home today. Just didn't seem right to send her on.

Here are the lessons I have learned....

1. A toddler throwing up will quickly bring you down from your "It's a girl!" high.

2. The more times you change sheets, the more you wash them....which means you are stuck with folding 5 sets of sheets. Yuck!

3. Never, and I mean, NEVER wash a pillow in the washer. Seriously, my washer was going crazy. The pillow was banging the wash drum so violently that the sides were jumping...the washer moved up a foot and over about 2 feet.

4. You can turn off your washer, release the catch and get the pillow out....although you will spend 10 minutes draining water out of it just so you can haul it to the bathtub.
