I know it has been a while since I've written. We had such a great weekend...it was busy! Mom came in on Friday. We went to Baja Grill. It is a little hole in a wall Mexican restaurant that issuper good!
The next day, Mom and I took Katherine to a quilt shop (where she did great). Then after lunch, we headed over to Border's. I wanted the new Harry Potter book. Since I'm not a freako nerd, I chose to not stand in line at midnight and pay full price. Instead, I waited about 10 hours later. I'm only on chapter 8 out of 36.
Katherine just loved the book store. At the very beginning, she just picked a random book off the shelf and started walking away. I decided that the Bart Simpson Movie Book was not toddler appropriate. Her big blue eyes lit up when we walked into the children's section. She had a ball looking at all of the books and reading.
After her afternoon nap, we headed out to the mall. I needed new black shoes and to spend my Bath and Bodyworks gift certificate. I found the black shoes almost immediately. They look like little ballet shoes, love them! I also got a nice set of stuff at B&B. ...refreshing cucumber flavor. Yum!
On Sunday, we met Aunt Sue and Uncle Mike at Los Lupes for lunch. The band was fun to listen to and the food was good. Katherine enjoyed listening to them sing, she was especially fascinated by the trumpet. She clapped for them and seemed to have a good time. Of course, afterwards, we weren't even to the highway and she feel asleep. The best part was paying the band a dollar to sing Happy Birthday to Mom. She turned 3 shades of red...it was cute.
I had to go back to school on Monday, but that night, Mom and I went to see the movie Hairspray. It was a fun thing to do for her birthday. I can't tell you how much we loved it! It just puts you in the best mood! I danced out of the theatre.
Now, I want I also want to add is that on Saturday and Sunday, I learned to sew! Yep, me... I made Katherine (through the skillful teaching and gentle coaching of Mom) 2 pairs of britches with ruffles and pockets. I am pretty dang proud of myself!
OK, keep an eye out for tomorrow.... cute photos coming your way!
