St. Somewhere...here we come~!

Frank and I decided (on a whim) to bring Katherine to the beach house in Galveston. www.st-somewhere.blogspot.com. If you know us, "whims" aren't exactly our strength. But since Frank has Monday off, it seemed like the thing to do!

Anyway, we headed out on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Now, it is a 5 1/2 hour drive to Galveston from our house. We got here a little after 7:30 p.m. So you can imagine that we were tired. Traffic + a baby just = long drive!

Today, Katherine woke us up a little before 9. That is the latest she slept in a long time. We piddled around before deciding to head out to Beno's. Katherine has never been to Beno's so this would be her first experience with the fantastic food! I got the fish filet. It was awesome. Frank, who has no imagination, got the shrimp po-boy. Anyone who knows Frank, knows that he orders the same thing at any place we go eat. Italian food? Lasagna. Mexican Food? Enchildas. Chili's? Fajita Chicken Nachos. Beno's? Shrimp Po-boy. I love how consistent he can be. Katherine had chicken fingers, french fries and cole slaw. She seemed to really love it.

After that, we headed out to Wal-Mart. (I know. You are thinking that we have pretty exciting lives....even on vacation). We bought some groceries for meals. But we also got the sale of the week. They have this rack o'cheap crud sometimes at Wal-Mart. Today, they had a pack of 3 Playstation 2 games normally for $12.88 priced at $3.50. Hey now~ that is a deal! We don't have a PS2 at our house, but there is one here at the beach house. Frank grabbed it up and has been playing it ever since. Thank goodness we have music playing in the background. Listening to a race car video game gets old.

Katherine was asleep in the car practically before we got out of the parking lot. That was at 1:15. She is still sleeping and it is 3:35. Lucky parents are we!!

More on the rest of the trip as it occurs. We plan to drive around on the golf cart later and tomorrow we are taking Katherine to the Mardi Gras Children's parade. We even bought her beads. Although, I don't plan on teaching her the real reason behind the beads quite yet... :)
