OK, I'll do the update on Christmas so I can be caught up for everyone!
The whole family had Christmas in Kerrville at my grandparents house. On Saturday, we played a game that had us all rolling in the end. We had to write down the worst Christmas present we ever received. Then everyone had to guess who had written it down. Then we voted. Uncle Marty won with the electric potato peeler. He said not only was it kind of obsene looking but it flung potato peels all over the kitchen! ha!
On Christmas Eve, we went to church. We took up a more than one pew. The service was very nice. Mom and I only had one moment when we got upset. Michael really loved Christmas and I always miss him more during this season. I do have to say that our moment was somewhat broken up by the discovery that we didn't have any tissues. The only thing I had was some anti-bacterial handiwipes.....just doesn't cut it.
After the service, we headed to the Inn of the Hills for champagne lunch. It was really good! Some shopping and napping led us into the evening. We took family photos and then some of us went to the evening church service. We took Katherine into the sanctuary thinking that all of the singing would keep her distracted. Uh, no. Frank took her out to the lobby when she stood up on my lap, discovered the people in the pew behind us (much to her surprise) and said, "hi!". That was the point that she wanted to play with them.
She enjoyed playing in the lobby with Frank and then her Papa much more anyway. Dad brought her back for Silent Night at the end. He had made a halo for her out of pipe cleaners. It was adorable.
Christmas Day, we opened gifts, gifts and more gifts. 15 people equals a lot of presents!
Frank had to leave for work that afternoon. That afternoon was the Christmas meal of turkey, dressing and ect. Yum!
The next day, Katherine was really sick with an ear infection and I was sick with a sinus infectione. So, we went to the doctor and then we drove home the next day. That part was not fun so we won't dwell. Both of us are better now. :)
Bottom line, we had a very nice holiday.
