Babe's

No nap + hunger = classic Katherine meltdown during the family dinner at Babe's.

No nap + hunger + cranky preschooler = slight additional meltdown by Mommy.

Once we both ate, it got better and we all had a wonderful meal. Comfort food cures all. Babe's has such awesome food. I think the chicken fried everything and bacon laced green beans are what perked me up. The banana pudding and chocoloate pie were excellent for Katherine. And once Frank got there, he didn't come up for air from the fried chicken for at least 15 minutes.

Let me back up though and add a few fun facts to this story.

First of all, I showed up with streaked hair because it was Crazy Hair day at school. Noone at Babe's seemed to bothered by my blue, pink, green and purple locks. I was embarrassed though. Gina, Jeff and Matt weren't too suprised. But I am sure that I made quite the impression on Uncle David, Aunt Rita and Jeff's son, Michael. Michael is in the military and is in from Guam. He hasn't been stateside for 18 months, at least. And here I parade in with neon hair....he was in his uniform. nice.


The other snafu was the monsoon rainstorm that knocked out the electricty twice and delayed our departure for 45 minutes. Entertaining Katherine became a team effort.
