Turkey Day!

So far, we have had a fantastic holiday!

On Tuesday, Katherine and I headed to Dallas to avoid Thanksgiving Wednesday traffic. Doesn't seem like a big deal to some people. But when I was in college, it would take me 3+ hours to drive the 100 miles from Wesleyan to Mexia. I swore I would never do that again... Anyway, I digress. Since Frank was still in Granbury, Kathy fixed my favorite meal of hers....chicken alfredo. It was SOOO good. We had a lovely evening watching Dancing with the Stars.

On Wednesday, Kathy (after being admonished by her office) took Katherine to KinserBates, LLP for a play date. This gave me the morning off. I ate chicken alfredo at 9:30 in the morning, took a very long time getting ready and read my book. It was heaven! Once they got home, Kathy and I began cooking. See, Kathy's sister, Sherry, has returned from England and is back in the States permanently. Now why she insisted on also hosting Thanksgiving, I don't know. But Sherry wanted to so we cooked all the sides and she cooked the turkey and mashed potatoes. Kathy and I conjured up about 8 different casseroles, salads and pies. By the time Frank got to us that evening, we decided to order a pizza and were in bed by 9. Party animals...

Thursday was a wonderful day of family, food and general merriment. Sherry hosted a lovely Thanksgiving. We got home by 5:00 and everyone needed a nap.

On Friday, we again relaxed. I got my nails done. Katherine and Kathy relaxed at home. Poor Frank had to work. boo.

This morning, we are just hanging out! Lisa and Tatum are on the way from Austin. Later a tea party has been painstakingly planned by Katherine. oh boy!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving...early!

Today was the Thanksgiving Feast at Katherine's school. Her class dressed up as Indians.
They had a Thanksgiving meal of chicken nuggets, corn and mashed potatoes. I went early to help "cook" the meal. My part consisted of turning over the nuggets. Very, Very important! Then I got to eat lunch with Katherine. It was so much fun! She didn't even cry when I left!
Here are some cute photos.
My lil' Indian smiling!
Katherine and one of her best friends, Bleau. They are BIG time buddies!

AWESOME weekend!

Many of you know that every year our family buys a booth (this year it is 2 booths) at the annual Mexia Mistletoe and Magic Craft fair. Our whole purpose is to raise money for Michael's Good Guy scholarship. The 2008 craft fair is coming up soon. Since we have 2 booths this year, we have to up the inventory.

All this leads to this weekend....see, I have a point!

On Friday, Katherine, Cowboy and I headed to Dallas. Frank was already at Kathy's house to housesit. We cooked dinner and hung out. On Saturday morning, I got up and headed to Mexia. (Katherine and Cowboy had some Daddy time.)

Our goal at Mother and Daddy's this weekend was to make as much stuff as possible for the fair. We certainly accomplished our goal! We worked like crazy people from 9 am - 10:30 pm on Saturday. Mom and I worked on ribbon angels, brick buddies, snowman ornaments and embroidered handtowels. (It's makes more sense with photos). Dad worked on his famous reindeer. We have 46 of those.....While Mother and Daddy were at church today, I put all the faces on the reindeer.

At anyrate, I was released from my servanthood (haha) at 2:00 today.

I guess it was pretty awesome pay...time with my parents, a good cheeseburger from our local hole in the wall grill which is actually a gas station name Charlie's at Fina, a dinner from my FAVORITE mexican food joint, Tamale Inn.

Pictures should be coming soon....

Halloween 2008

We had a great Halloween! On Friday, Katherine, Cowboy and I headed to Jason and Jen's house. At least it gave Jen a chance to get their little ones ready. Frank was already there. It took us hour and a half to drive 55 miles. Nice.

Anyway, we got the kids all dressed up. Katherine went as a fairy princess. She looked so cute. Kira was a movie star and Kali was a pink kitty. They, too, were cute.

The kids really enjoyed trick or treating except for the small portion of fear that Jason blessed us with. He was dressed up as the Scream character. Katherine practically crawled up Frank's legs when she saw Jason. All the girls did great saying "trick or treat" and "thank you".

The next day, Frank left to come back to Granbury for an eye appointment. Jason, to make up for his sins, kept all 3 girls while Jen and I went to lunch and got pedi/manis! It was super duper.

Sunday was a day of church and football.

I only found the camera yesterday so I don't have pictures....yet.
