Good times

We had a great weekend! I had Friday off so I was able to spend time with Katherine. She and I drove over to Dallas on Friday morning. Ms. Betty kept her while I went to a doctor's appointment. After that, we spent the afternoon together. I even got to work on my video for Intern of the Year while she napped. :)

On Saturday, Frank left early in the morning and got home late. He had a company golf tournament. This was especially exciting because he just got a set of new (to him) irons. He was able to finally cash in those gift cards from Christmas. He had a great time! I don't think his team won but I guess it is about the journey, not the destination....or something like that.

Katherine and I spent Saturday morning just hangin'. We then head over to Kali Satterwhite's house for Kali's 2nd birthday. We arrived quite a bit early with MickeyDs in hand to help out Kali's mom, Jen, with party preparations. "Aunt Isa" was there too (or Lisa Lanahan as we call her). We really had a very nice time! Katherine jumped on the bouncy house, wore her Backyardigans mask and ate a HUGE piece of cake! She also then fell asleep in the car 10 minutes into the ride home.

Sunday, I got an amazing gift of time and help from my friend, Deborah. She took her afternoon to help me put together my scrapbook for intern of the year. Once I got home, I finished the video I have to submit. Frank and Katherine hung out at Kathy's for a little bit longer.

By Sunday, evening, we were all tired ... a good time was had by all though!

I guess I spoke too soon

Katherine is sick again with the stomach virus. This time, we called the doctor for advice. We followed the advice too, even though it was difficult. They told us for the first 36 hours, only 2 tsp. of water ever thirty minutes. (we could try crackers or toast after the first 12).

Let me just say, miserable yet effective. sort of. You can only imagine the effects of giving a cranky, sick, hungry and thirsty toddler this strict regiment. She gets better but then the parents turn into the cranky ones.

Then there are the physical effects. I will let you piece together what would happen to you if you drank only liquid for 36 hours. Let's just say... I truly believe in the power of Immodium.

Katherine has improved greatly but has a ways to go. (She has at least quit "giving back" everything we've given her in an immediate and projectile method)

Please pray that Katherine gets better soon.

Sorry if this was all TMI. (that's Too Much Information for those out of the loop) :)

Excellent news!

I received word yesterday that I have been nominated to compete for "Intern of the Year". Out of around 275 eligible interns, 10 or so are picked in my 4-8 grade category. And I am one of them!!!

In my certification program, I am considered an intern. It is somewhat like a student teacher...but I have my own classroom, students, ect. Ths is a HUGE deal! :)

I am truly honored to be chosen. There is much to do to submit all that is required. I am ready though. Thank you to all that have been there to help me through this year!

I guess it was fun....

After her big time with Aunt Sue, Katherine took a 3+ hour nap. Um, nice!

I think she must have had a good time. Katherine too...haha.

Anyway........during the nap time......

I got a ton of grading done and Frank spent about 2 1/2 hours examining the inside of his eyelids this afternoon.

On a completely different note,

I watched the last part of Drumline today. I am a complete and total BAND NERD! I am not ashamed to admit it. I am sure when Owen Robinson reads this (if he does) that he will be thrilled to know that I just dig those drum line scenes. I actually clapped when the A&T band won.

I've seen this movie at least a dozen times. So, I knew they would win....I still get into it though. :)

Anyway, now we are watching the Stars Playoff Game. Go Stars! They just scored! Yes!

(P.S. For anyone curious to know, Owen played percussion in the Aggie Band with my brother. Owen is such a good "big brother" to me, I had to mention it!)

Total Relaxation

Today, I got such an awesome treat! A pedicure and facial. If you have never had one of these, you should....it is divine.

Aunt Sue came over to watch Katherine while I went. (Frank was out of pocket). Katherine had so much fun with Aunt Sue! Sue said that Katherine kept saying, 'Mon, Sue!'...and taking her to go play at different places in the house. They played blocks, puzzles and watched Care Bears. Good times...

Thanks Aunt Sue!

Aloha

I was running late this morning (as usual). I couldn't resist stopping to take these two photos with my phone camera. They are a bit out of focus...still very cute though!

Gina and Jeff went to Hawaii and brought Katherine this dress!

Isn't her smile so sweet!?!

and may the pox on this house be lifted

OK, so that is a little dramatic. However, starting last Sunday, I began filling puny. I was able to go to work on Monday and Tuesday. Monday night, Katherine decided that she would begin throwing up everything within her. She was fine after that so we sent her on to daycare. On Tuesday, she seemed to be fine as well. Then that evening, she started throwing up every 30 minutes. nice. I'm still not feeling great so I stayed home with her on Wednesday. We both went back to school on Thursday. Katherine ended having to come home with a fever and upset tummy. So we kept her home on Friday. Frank ended up having to stay home as well because I was so sick that I slept all day while Frank kept Katherine. So sweet that Katherine shared her virus with me.

To add to this, poor Matt is staying with us. So somehow, we got him back and forth to Granbury HS everyday. And to his credit, Matt has been a model houseguest. (Gina and Jeff are attending a friend's wedding in Hawaii, lucky ducks). He even made a 100 on his World History Test~! Go Matt!

We all have woken up this glorious Saturday feeling great! No fevers, no stomach issues.... the curse is gone! Yea!!!!
